As part of the Keddies Pastoral Photographic Prize, Fernleigh is welcoming guests for the October long weekend.
From Friday 30th September until Monday 3rd October.
At the ‘Weekend of Photography’ bush getaway in the Upper Hunter Valley, Sarah Keddie is making available the fabulous Fernleigh complex, usually home to her ‘Back-in-a-Week’ programs [see www.sarahkey.com].
After the prize giving of the Keddies Pastoral Photography Prize in Murrurundi on the evening of Friday 30th September a light supper will be provided at Fernleigh Hall. Guests will make their own way there – an approximate 5o minute car journey – with directions provided. Note that part of this trip is over unsealed roads.
Saturday will consist of a guided photography field trip through the Fernleigh rural holding and include a picnic lunch at the spectacular Murphy’s Plateau. For the hail and hearty there will be a cross-country bushwalk back to the Hall afterwards.
On Saturday and Sunday evenings there will be relaxed around-the-campfire pre dinner drinks and after dinner open sessions with Sandy Edwards, photography curator and founder of ARTHERE, an organisation dedicated to helping photographers stage their own exhibitions. Photographs from the day will be shown on the big screen and discussed.
Sunday will include another outdoor experience ‘walking the ramparts’ where there are commanding views of the neighbouring Isis Valley and the Barrington Tops.
Guests will depart after breakfast on Monday 3rd October.
See the schedule of prices; view the accommodation and get in touch if you are interested in attending.
